well its not that long since i last posted...

Ok, so I haven't got the photo lark sorted yet, that involves remembering the camera and finding the cable and then working out the technology....

On saturday we got two new chickens. We already had four hybrids that we got last September. At the weekend we got a cream legbar who is now called Passanda and a Silver Hamburgh called Pakora. Yes there is a curry theme going on there..... the others are called Tikka, Balti, Bhoona and Madras.....

Had a lovely day out yesterday for my wedding anniversary. We went to Cotswold Park Farm. Fantastic day!!

will I ever get this blog lark mastered

Well looking back through the blog posts I have certainly changed over the last few years, and do you reckon I have changed enough to be able to get into the blogging habit? Well lets take a topic at a time and see what we can do...

Lets talk cats.... well I do have four.

I have three bengal cats who are littermates. Boris (the handsome one), Hattie (the lazy one) and Flo (the rough and tumble kind of girl). Then we got chickens (more about them later) and along came Gracie the rescue kitten who now thinks she is a bengal. She is a tiny ball of fluff even though we think she is about a year old now.

Now the big problem I have with blogging is trying to get the photos on and right. So let me see what I can do....
mmmm somehow the phot ended up at the beginning.... must try harder...

Off on my hols.....

Off on hols tomorrow to wet wales. Its been a bit manic here - well in my mind anyway as we have been trying to sort out the size of the chicken run .... You would have thought something like that would have been extremely simple, but no. You have so much to consider, like poo ports and egg ports and guttering and sloping roofs and where the coop is going to sit.

We were out measuring up and the cats joined in. They love to help with the steel tape measure.....

My life

Things are changing round here......

This blog was originally about my textiles, then that sort of got put on the back burner as I got addicted to beads... I still am addicted to beads and have completed my city and guilds level 2 and am hoping to start the next level 2 in beading this October.

But that might have to become a new blog all of its own....

This blog is going to be all about the little people in my life......

Well there are some big people being my husband Martyn and my step daughter Charlie

Then there are the three bengals, Boris Hattie and Flo....

We are also planning on getting two more kittens and building a chicken run and getting four chickens... So watch this space......

My return

Well the blog didn't last long did it? Well I have now decided to give it a go again. So watch this space. A lot has happened since I last blogged on here. Getting married was the main thing! Three months from proposal to becoming a Mrs and not a single bit of stress on the way. The secret to a happy day is small and quick! My mum merry and playing on guitar hero was something that I won't be forgetting!

So this weekend I am off to my next city and guilds weekend for bead weaving. I am just about to start my second year.

So think of this as my new years resolution - to post at least once a week on my blog. It won't be all about textiles and beads, maybe a few other bits as well, but save that to another time!

Till next time........

Oh dear - its been a long time!

Sorry folks!

The kitchen has been a nightmare, we are past the five week anniversary and its still nto quite finished. Its usable just a few odds and ends to do. That combined with a holiday has led me away from the creative stuff.

Anyway I am going to do something tonight honest. It may not be mymost creative but I will do something. As a start I have found my work table. It was buried with family history stuff. My mum together with BBC1's Who do you think you are? has got me hooked. I have a family tree but I want to bring it to life and find out more about everyone on it. So another think to add to my to do list!!!

My holiday was a week in Swanage. I have never been there before and I must say that it was lovely. Everywhere was fantastic and would really like to go back again and explore further. It was quite worrying when I was looking at crumbling walls of Corfe Castle or the shoreline at Durdle Door and seeing art quilts in the making. Perhaps I will try and put a photo of it up. If its blank below you know I didn't manage it!

Distractions

Yes, I have to say there are quite a few distractions. Our kitchen gets demolished tomorrow so we have been running around, getting lights, paints etc and trying to pack up the kitchen. Having lived in our house less than a year it is amazing how much rubbish you can accumulate!

We have finally decided on a paint colour, wait for it...... a sort of pinky purple colour, rather bold I know but we decided not to traditional. Now we are on the hunt for a fridge freezer. The big American one we wanted won't quite fit so we are now trying to see if we can justify the money on a SMEG retro one. Decisions decisions!!

So the demolition starts tomorrow and on Tuesday the walls come down. Then next weekend we disappear on holiday for a week to Swanage. So by the time we come back our kitchen should be finished.

So what about the crafts. Well as you can imagine not much has been happening with all that. I have now changed my working hours so that I finish at 4pm meaning i can get a bit more done in the evening. I have painted some more bondaweb this week ready for more wall experiments.

If I feel brave enough this week, and if I get chance I will try whip stitch on the sewing machine.
And of course ....Photos!!!!
